Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club – Albion Park Raceway (Pacers and Chasers)

The Brief- To design & construct their club house kitchen/servery and bar, including commercial equipment supply to accommodate a workable space to cater for their ever growing 300 + seating/catering capacity.
The Budget - Was achieved by ‘value engineering’ materials and specifications maintaining the design intent in line with the committees fit-out design intent and wish lists.
The Challenges –

Communicating and meeting with a boardroom full of committee members including their F&B manager on a weekly bases from inset seemed very daunting and somewhat scary, however looking back on the project, very necessary. Communication during this project was one of the key factors of our achievement as everyone – I mean everyone, was fully informed throughout providing transparency on every level.

As this project was on the second floor with limited access. Logistics was challenging however this hurdle was soon sorted by bringing in heavy machinery assisting us with this dilemma for further smooth sailing.

Due to the existing infrastructure being dated pre 70’s it was like ‘opening a can of worms’ during defit stage, however 24/7 onsite management supervision minimised many unforeseen hurdles to maintain continuity of works.
The Timeline – This was critical as our client had already secured their seasonal catered events for their patrons the day following practical completion. Hand over was achieved by complete off-site manufacturing of joinery within our Brisbane based joinery manufacturing plant including many out of hours or management and trade attendance to achieve the desired hand over date.
The Outcome – A sophisticated space appropriate for the briefed purpose of use. This stylish but functional space proves to be an asset to our clients objectives to take their club house to the next level of service for their patrons.
